Nine Mile Ranch is located nine miles northwest of Quesnel, British Columbia and produce purebred breeders of Red and Black Angus and Simmental Cattle, beef cattle meat cuts, Verified Beef Production and year-round sales. We value locally grown produce and so in recent years have taken great pride in producing quality beef for sale at our local community Bouchie Lake Country Store and farmgate sales. Our farm humanely raises Berkshire/Landrace/Duroc pigs, born on the farm with room to grow and thrive! We use our Farm gate Plus license to reduce the stress for our animal's "one bad day". Our pork cuts are vacuum sealed for longevity and so you can see what you are purchasing. All curing is done with celery extract powder and there are no fillers in our 8 types of sausage, just pork and spices. We choose to be Certified Organic so you can be assured that our animals are well taken care of and get feed free of toxic substances. We eat what we grow and want to share that awesome food with you!

Firefly Meadows Farm

Firefly Meadows Farm is a small footprint micro farm tucked away amid the forest in Bouchie Lake. We have a strong philosophy of working with the land rather than against it. As our little farm grows, we will incorporate regenerative and holistic methods that are in balance with the land as it originally stood. Many of our farm products incorporate forest foods and medicines as we honor the natural abundance that exists around us. With a strong background in Holistic & botanical medicine, our products are crafted with care, respect and as sustainably as possible. Our flock of holistically raised chickens provide beautiful rainbow eggs which are available for purchase at the farm. Periodically we will also offer chicks and pullets from our flock along with seasonal vegetables from our garden. Our artisanal Sourdough bread is also available for purchase weekly at the farm, at local markets and in town at The Den coffeeshop. Firefly Meadows Farm is also currently offering herbal salves, teas and handmade leather goods.

Our family immigrated to Canada from Switzerland in 1990. We built and ran Fox Dairy Farms to what it was known to be until 2 years ago. We are now transitioning into poultry, specifically layers. In today’s agricultural industry it is important to know not only where your food is produced and where it’s coming from but also knowing your farmer. I have spent the last 28 years pursing a passion of mine to become a professional athlete. I dedicated 10 years as a professional hockey player in Switzerland. Since I was a child, agriculture has been a big part of my life. Early on, I discovered a fascination with agriculture in general; how farming works on a day-to-day basis and throughout the seasons, and the different branches that exist. Growing up on a dairy farm not only gave me great joy and satisfaction, but also a certain level of discipline and work ethic. Over the years it became more and more clear to me that my future will be in agriculture. As a logical consequence I decided last year to end my career as a professional athlete, become self-employed and finally devote myself fully to farming. We look forward to serving you and the community with the healthiest and highest quality products.

From Beds to Bowls

From Beds to Bowls is a market garden farm established by Kate Patterson and Elliott Morton in 2016. In 2018, we moved our farm from leased land in the Lower Mainland to a 10-acre property that we purchased just west of Quesnel, B.C. From Beds to Bowls was established as a business with the goal of growing fresh, organic produce in an environmentally sustainable way. We are certified organic since 2023. We specialize in growing salad greens and tomatoes as well as unique varieties of other vegetables, such as beans, cucumbers, radishes, carrots, kale, broccoli, onions, garlic and much more.
