Agri-tourism Circle Tour
One day bus tour of six FARMED member agri-businesses in the North Cariboo. 46 area residents participated in the circle tour. The event was sponsored by Investment Agriculture Foundation of British Columbia and the Cariboo Regional District.

Marketing Caravan - FARMED hosted CFBMC (Canadian Farm Business Management Council) One day workshop titled "On a roll with Agriculture". 90 people attended the workshop. Of five CFBMC workshops held across Canada, Quesnel had the second highest number of registrants.

Gerry & Grant Knauf

Gerry & Grant Knauf of Knauf Farm were recognized as "Quesnel Volunteer Citizen of the Year" for Quesnel for 2006. They are the first couple to receive this award and are serving their term in 2007-2008.



Heloise Dixon Warren ~ Moose Meadows Farm

Heloise Dixon-Warren of Moose Meadows Farm won "Innovator of the Year" for Northern British Columbia at Today's Womens Award in Prince George in September 2007. She won this for the work Moose Meadows Farm has done to become the first accredited agritourism farm in the Cariboo-Chilcotin and for their evergreen products business.


Quesnel Community and Economic Development Corporation proudly announces the printing of "The Birch Syrup Production Manual - Tapping into Syrup Boreal Forest Style" in June 2007. Authored by Heloise Dixon-Warren, BSc, RPF Moose Meadows Farm. The manual is the first of its kind in Canada. To date, manuals have been ordered from across Canada, United States and the United Kingdom. For additional information on the manual, please visit www.quesnelinfo.com/birch.asp.


"Small Farm Canada" published an article submitted by FARMED member, Heloise Dixon-Warren, in their November/December issue. Titled "Tapping a New Market - Boreal Forest Style" the article outlined the opportunities for agricultural producers and forest managers to begin producing birch sap products.
